When you find that perfect pair of jeans that look great on you, you want to take care of them so they last a long time. however not just jeans, you want to take care of all your denim items. To help keep your denim feeling fresh and new, try these tricks to care for them properly.

1. Wash in cold water - To help preserve the shape and the color of your denim, you should turn them inside out and wash them in cold water in your washing machine. If your denim has embellishments on them you should put them inside out and place them in a mesh laundry bag before placing them in the washer. This will help protect them even better.
2. Soap - You should choose to use liquid detergent rather then powder detergent. Liquid is less abrasive then the powder which also tends to clump up and leave marks on your denim clothing.
3. Skip the dryer - Instead of drying your denim in the dryer, try laying them flat on a flat rack. Especially if your denim has embellishments on it, you do not want to put them in the dryer. This will also help avoid shrinkage. However if you will be ironing them each time then that can also damage the denim. So choose to either iron or place them in the dryer but don't do both.
4. Try not to wash them every time you wear them if possible. If you want them to fit better, instead of ashing them place them in the dryer with a damp towel for a few minutes. Then they will be nice and snug again.

It’s a terrible feeling to wake up in the morning to find that you have to pull out the iron before you can leave for work. Why can’t our clothes just magically remain wrinkle free? Fortunately, there are a few things you can do to help eliminate wrinkles or prevent wrinkles in clothes from forming.

Things You Can Do To Prevent Wrinkles in Clothes

1. Never leave your clothes in the dryer. Pull them out and put them away as soon as the dryer is finished. The cold air will allow wrinkles in clothes to set, so properly hanging or folding your laundry while it is warm will keep those wrinkles at bay.
2. Properly hang your clothes to prevent wrinkles. This means putting them on hangers in your closet instead of draping them over the side of the ironing board or on the back of the couch. Forget clothes hooks or the side of your dining room table–hangers only!
3. Hang everything! Most of us think we should fold our t-shirts and hang our sweaters. The best scenario would be to hang everything, but if that’s not possible try to hang your lighter weight clothing items instead of your heavy sweaters. Lighter cloths wrinkle easily while those heavy sweaters will fare just fine in the dresser drawer.
4. Buy clothing that is made out of wrinkle-free fabric. It really does exist and is the perfect solution for anyone who hates ironing, or for the busy traveler who just doesn’t have time. Look for clothing made of licra, microfiber of poly or vicose.
5. Frequent travelers should roll their clothing instead of folding it for the suitcase to prevent wrinkles. You may end up with a few, but not nearly as many as you would have had you folded instead.
6. Be careful while ironing. Ironing can’t be avoided in some cases, but if you do iron make sure you push the part of the clothing you’ve just ironed away from your body so that it hangs over the far side of the ironing table. This way you won’t lean on it and cause new wrinkles on the freshly ironed (and still warm) fabric.
7. Invest in a good wrinkle spray. There are a few products on the market that you can use to prevent wrinkles. Simply spray them on your clothes and smooth the surface with your hands. Any existing wrinkles will be eliminated and when you return the garment to its proper place in the closet it won’t get any new ones.

Wear vertically oriented patterns. Pinstripes, herringbone patterns and chalk stripes all elongate the body. Select pants and jackets with these types of patterns to create the impression of height. Do not mix them, however, or you will just look short and very distracting.

Get a short haircut. Close-cropped locks make you look taller because they create a distinction between the head, neck and shoulders. Work with your hairstylist to select a style that is flattering for you.

Wear a shirt and pants of the same color. This will prevent you from breaking up your frame and causing people to focus on your body in pieces. Monochrome dressing is a sleek way to elongate your shape.

 

 

Avoid plaids and checks. These patterns are too busy to wear all over and emphasize your upper body, which can make your legs seem shorter.

 

Choose light or medium weight fabrics. Heavy fabrics can make you look bulky and stocky, characteristics which inherently make anyone look shorter than they are. Lighter fabrics flow with your body and create an elongated appearance.

When making a dress shirt purchase you need to consider: size first and foremost, collar style, construction, and fabric.

Size and Fit
If the first thing you do when leave your office for home is loosen your collar button and pull down your tie, your shirt collar doesn’t fit. A recent study by Cornell University shows that 70 per cent of men wear their shirts too tight. You should not experience, much less tolerate, discomfort when wearing a dress shirt and tie.

Don't Get All Choked Up About It
There are a couple of ways to avoid that choked-up feeling. First, put on one of your shirts and button the collar. If you cannot put your two middle fingers between the collar and your neck without touching, your collar is too small. Buy a half size larger.

To be sure, put a tape measure around your neck at the Adam’s apple. Add one half size to that measurement. Dress shirts in the U.S. are sized in half inch increments: 14, 14 ½, 15. 15 ½, etc. So if your neck measures 15 inches, purchase a size 15 ½.

The right clothes give you an opportunity to make the right impression. I have outlined 4 important tips on dressing for a job interview.

Fragrance [NONO]On the day of our interview, before you even begin to get dressed, there is one thing you should avoid. You may be tempted to follow your normal routine of splashing your favorite cologne or aftershave on after you hop out of the shower. Don’t do it for your interview, you don’t want to overwhelm the interviewer. They may not like your fragrance as much as you do.

What to Wear. . .

To a more formal interview: It helps to know how formal the company you will be interviewing with is and if wearing a suit is necessary. I hate to state the obvious, but it is important to go in a suit and tie to any company that's part of a more formal industry, such as banking, law or brokerage. Choose a basic black, dark gray or navy suit. Also opt for black leather lace-up shoes and a black belt. Blue shirts are a great choice since they compliment most skin tones and easily coordinate with most suit colors. Choose a flattering tie that goes well with both the suit and shirt you have chosen.

To a less formal interview: Some less formal industries such as software development and technology companies will not require a suit. However, it's better to wear something a little nicer than what everyone in the office is wearing. So choose something dressy but casual. Such ensembles might include pressed khakis or trousers, a well pressed button-down shirt, and of course some sort of nice looking dress shoe and matching belt. You may even want to thrown on a blazer. Navy blazers look great with khaki pants.

Shoes and BeltsPay attention to details such as matching your belt to the color of your shoes. Choose black shoes if your outfit consists of dark gray, navy, brown or black. Opt for dark brown shoes if you'll be wearing tans or medium toned colors. I hate to sound like your mother, but polish or clean your shoes before your interview. Scuff marks on your shoes make you look tattered, and we can't have that.

Accessories
Keep interview accessories minimal and professional. Use some sort of bound portfolio to carry your resume, references or other papers. Men should limit jewelry to a wristwatch and cufflinks if you wear them. Earrings, necklaces, nose rings, and such are not interview material (for the man who wants the job anyway). Whatever the type of industry, men should wear jewelry sparingly.
